The Lamborghini Urus features a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 650 hp (478 kW) at 6,000 rpm, maximum 6,800 rpm, and 850 Nm of maximum torque already at 2,250 rpm. With 162.7 hp/l the Urus claims one of the highest specific power outputs in its class and the best weight-to-power ratio at 3,38 kg/hp.
The Lamborghini Urus accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12,8 seconds and with a top speed of 305 km/h it is the fastest SUV available.
The Lamborghini Urus sports a new front-mounted, 4.0 liter petrol V8 twin-turbo aluminum engine. The choice of a turbo engine, the first in a Lamborghini, reflects the desired usage range of the Urus. Especially in off-road conditions a high level of torque at low revs is necessary and can be guaranteed only by such an engine, providing optimal engine responsiveness and efficiency. Delivering 650 hp (478 kW) at 6,000 rpm, maximum 6,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 850 Nm at 2,250-4,500 rpm, the Urus has a specific power of 162.7 hp/l. With a curb weight lower than 2,200 kg the Urus is the SUV with the best weight-to-power ratio at 3.38 kg/hp.
The Urus accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h. Braking is no less impressive: the Urus decelerates from 100 km/h to 0 in 33,7 m.
Color and trim
Luxury Italian style and craftsmanship resonate through the Lamborghini Urus. Its ergonomic cabin is replete with high quality materials including the finest leather, Alcantara, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood.
Internally the Urus is specified with a Unicolor leather and trim in either Nero Ade or Grigio Octans and five additional optional colors. Dual-color Bicolor Elegante and Bicolor Sportivo specifications with options of both leather and Alcantara are also available. Stitching options and complementary seat belt, floor mat and carpet colors allow clients to customize their Urus in a more sporty or elegant style as required. The dashboard trim is finished in Piano Black and Brushed Aluminum as standard. Optional finishes are offered in Open Pore wood including a combination with aluminum, and a carbon fiber alternative.
An optional Off-Road Package incorporating the TERRA and SABBIA driving modes, includes specific metal-reinforced bumpers and additional underfloor protection for off-roading in snow, forest or even dune surfing.
Lamborghini four-wheel drive and torque vectoring: optimizing driving dynamics
The Lamborghini Urus' four-wheel drive system delivers safe, highly-responsive driving dynamics on every road and surface, in all weather. A Torsen central self-locking differential provides maximum control and agility in all driving conditions, particularly off-road. Torque is split 40/60 to the independent front/rear axle as standard, with a dynamic maximum torque of 70% to the front or 87% to the rear, enhancing traction to the axle with higher ground friction.
The Lamborghini Urus features active torque vectoring via a rear differential, enabling propulsive power to be instantly distributed to each individual wheel for enhanced traction, depending on the driving mode, driving style and the road grip. Torque vectoring also provides additional steering control: less steering effort is required, with enhanced agility allowing higher cornering speeds and a more sporty drive. Yaw motion is controlled, avoiding understeer into corners and tire slip during acceleration. In the driving modes STRADA, TERRA (off-road) and NEVE (snow) torque vectoring reduces understeer for safe and simple driving. In SPORT and CORSA torque vectoring allows the Urus to become more agile with a greater oversteer character: interaction between the four-wheel drive system and ESC manages oversteer to enable a precise and fun drive. In SABBIA (sand) mode, the system is calibrated to guarantee agility and precision on terrains with reduced grip such as on gravel or sand dunes, making it the ideal mode for off-road fun.

Electric trucks for BMW Group Plant Munich: 100% electric, clean and quiet – BMW Group, ARS Altmann AG and SCHERM Group put two new e-trucks into service.
As of now, three electric trucks are part of the logistics operations of the BMW Group’s home plant. What began when the first 40-ton electric truck was put into service by the Munich plant in 2015 has now been taken to the next level. Through the use of these e-trucks, the company reduces CO2 emissions by approx. 82 tons annually. All three trucks are used on public roads in the Greater Munich area.
With its first e-truck, logistics service provider ARS Altmann AG transports new cars on a 15-kilometer route through Munich: on its way from the town of Garching north of the city to the BMW Welt, the truck is loaded with vehicles to be handed over to customers; on the way back, it transports finished vehicles from the BMW plant, which will later be dispatched from the Garching site to the European sales network. A special feature of the new e-truck is its covered semitrailer.
The SCHERM Group has been a partner of the BMW Group for over two years, cooperating on matters of sustainable city logistics. The two companies are very satisfied with the experiences gained through the use of their first e-truck, which has operated very reliably since being put into service in July 2015. At a top speed of 40 kilometers an hour, the e-truck covers its route between the SCHERM logistics center and BMW Group Plant Munich eight times daily, saving about 48 tons of CO2 annually compared to a conventional truck. With its second e-truck, the logistics company now delivers vehicle components from its supply center in Karlsfeld, 12 kilometers outside of the city, to the Munich plant. At a top speed of 64 kilometers per hour, the new e-truck has a range of approx. 160 kilometers.
Joined by representatives of ARS Altmann AG, the SCHERM Group and the BMW Group, Kurt Kapp, the City of Munich’s Director Business Development, officially put the two new e-trucks into service:
“The topic of reducing CO2 emissions is more relevant than ever. We are therefore delighted that the BMW Group, together with its logistics service providers, is expanding its fleet of e-trucks and making a forward-looking contribution to reducing emissions in the city of Munich, "said Kapp. "We need innovative and sustainable logistics concepts in order to protect our citizens’ health and enable future production within the city at the same time."
Thanks to the combination of green energy and alternative drives, the 40-ton e-trucks are emission-free, quiet and generate almost no particulate matter pollution. Compared to diesel engine trucks, the three electric trucks save 82 tons of CO2 annually. This is equivalent to the distance a BMW 320d would travel when going around the world almost twenty times, around 800,000 kilometers. Depending on the specific tractor, the truck batteries take three to four hours to charge. When fully charged, the e-trucks have a range of up to 160 kilometers each.
Dr. Milan Nedeljkovic, Director of BMW Group Plant Munich: “With three electric trucks, we are setting another strong example for resource-saving production in the heart of Munich. We are proud to be a pioneer in sustainable city logistics since 2015 and to make a contribution to reducing emissions in the city by around 82 tonnes."
Jürgen Maidl, SVP Logistics and Production Network at the BMW Group, underscored the potential of sustainability in logistics: “This expansion of our
e-truck fleet demonstrates clearly that we are continuing the implementation of the BMW Group’s sustainability goals for rail and road transport. At the three production sites in Munich, Landshut and Leipzig, we now operate a total of seven electric trucks.”
Dr. Maximilian Altmann, CEO of ARS Altmann AG, emphasized: “With our rail transport systems, we have been contributing to taking heavy goods traffic off the roads for years. It is now time for us to play a role also in putting zero-emission trucks on the road. Together with the BMW Group, we want to drive emission reductions in Munich’s city traffic.”
Kurt J. F. Scherm, CEO of the SCHERM Group, explained: “The successful pilot project with our first e-truck launched in 2015 has motivated us to pursue this course further and use electrified vehicles on additional routes. The new supply center in Karlsfeld is ideal for this purpose.”
