With those specs the 2020 Corolla Hybrid also compares well to its crosstown rival, the Honda Insight. The most fuel efficient Insight is rated at 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway. Both the Corolla Hybrid and Insight have the same 52 mpg combined rating.

The Corolla Hybrid is powered by a 1.8L four-cylinder with two motor/ generators that generate a combined 121 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain sends its power to the front wheels via a CVT.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is slated to arrive this spring.

If you prefer the non-hybrid Corolla, the most efficient version is rated 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.
