The 2019 Acura RDX has been completely redesigned and is the first of a new generation of Acura models built around Acura’s Precision Crafted Performance brand direction. To prepare for production of the 2019 RDX, Honda invested $54 million in new technologies and processes at the East Liberty Auto Plant.

In addition to its more dynamic styling, the 2019 RDX also switches back to a turbocharged four-cylinder, which is replacing the old naturally-aspirated V6. The 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder generates 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque and is mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive is also optional.

“This new RDX defines the future of Acura, and our Ohio team did an incredible job preparing this first in a new generation of Acura vehicles for our customers,” said Jim Hefner, plant manager at the East Liberty Auto Plant. “Paired with a new Ohio-made 2.0-liter Turbo engine, an all-new platform and a host of new technologies, the 2019 RDX sets a new high bar for style, performance and sophistication in a compact luxury SUV.”

Acura hasn’t announced the pricing for the 2019 RDX, but it will arrive in showrooms in June.
